Comment | Dedicated to the Duchess of Buccleugh. Ms note by George Chalmers (1742-1825) on title-page of BL copy of another work attributes the poem to Thomas Meek. The common attribution to Thomas Campbell is certainly an error: the author's "Advertisement" merely expresses admiration for Campbell. |
