| Comment | Part of Hanway’s “Proposal for County Naval free-Schools”, the Songs etc. has a separate title-page. This section, pp 113-41, is preceded by a prose proposal and followed by the music for the songs. The folio edition contains handsome copperplate engravings but a prefatory note refers to the duodecimo edition, which lacks the plates but has “the advantage of being portable.” |
