Author: Winter, Anna Maria

Biography:

WINTER, Anna Maria (c. 1770-1837: ancestry.co.uk)

She was the second child born to Samuel Winter of Agher, County Meath, and his wife Margaret Robbins. Her birth year is a guess based on the 1768 birth year of her older brother, John Pratt Winter, author of Observations on the Temper and Spirit of the Irish Nation (1803) and of the letter which prefaces Anna Maria Winter’s Thoughts on the Moral Order of Nature (1831). She also wrote The Ideal Confidant: a Poem (1836).  She died of influenza on 21 Jan. 1837 at home in Lower Sherrard Street, Dublin. Likely she was buried at Agher Church in the Winter family vault.
