WHITE, John (fl 1830)
White appears to have published only one book, Amusement of a Winter’s Evening (1830), which was dedicated to the Duke of Wellington and included an “operatic romance” in two acts, in prose and verse, entitled “The Last Struggle!” which is sometimes found listed separately in library catalogues. The work does not seem to have been advertised or reviewed. No digital copy has been found online but the contents and subscribers’ list might yield clues to the identity of the author. His name is too common to trace through public records. HJ
