WEED, Dan (c. 1758-1818: ancestry.com)
Records of his marriage and death use the full name Daniel, but he was evidently known as Dan. The title-page of his posthumously-published Hymns, which has no other prefatory materials, indicates that he was born in New Hartford CT and died in Great Barrington MA, aged 60, on 17 Feb. 1818. No reliable information has been found about his parents. In 1780 he married Elizabeth Lewis (1760-1846), with whom he had three children. He was a farmer and a member of the First Congregational Church. Both husband and wife are buried in the Water Street Cemetery in Great Barrington.
