Biography:

TERRY, Ezekiel (1775-1829: ancestry.com)

He was the son of Samuel and Mary (Kellogg) Terry, born in Enfield CT. In 1795 he married Mehitable Griswold there; they had at least two children and settled nearby in Palmer MA. He became a Baptist minister, mentored by the pastor of the Baptist churches in Enfield and Longmeadow, George Atwell (1766-1814). His early religious verses and hymns were printed by local presses but by 1809, Terry had established his own press in Palmer, where he published his periodical, The Massachusetts Watchman; some pamphlets on religious controversies; a short biography of Washington; and Memoirs of "our beloved deceased friend" the Rev.
