Biography:
TAYLOR, Charles (b 1795: Watt)
Watt states that he was born at Barrhead, Renfrewshire, in 1795 but no records that can be conclusively linked to him have been located. Aside from the two books of verse, he also published The Levern Delineated in a Series of Views of the Most Interesting Scenery (Glasgow, 1831). He is not the Charles Taylor (1756-1823) who translated Calmet’s Dictionary of the Bible. (Robert Watt, Bibliotheca Britannica 2 [1824]) SR
