Biography:

TATAM, William Kellock (c. 1806-54: ancestry.co.uk)

He was born in Ireland, probably in 1806, the eldest son of George Tatam of Russell Street, Dublin, but the name of his mother is not known. He studied at Trinity College Dublin; although the standard reference sources do not record his graduation, he had a BA and was a founding member of the Brunswick Constitutional Club of the Graduates of the University of Dublin. He is not included in CCEd yet he must have been ordained: he is recorded as the Rev. W. K. Tatam in notices of his 13 Nov. 1833 marriage at Abbeyleix Church to Elizabeth King, daughter of Sir Robert King of Charleston House, County Roscommon. At the time of the wedding he was the minister at Church Kirk, Lancashire. In 1836 he laid the foundation stone of a new church, Immanuel, at nearby Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire; after its completion in 1838 he served as the incumbent of this church until his death on 29 May 1854. He was buried in the churchyard of Oswaldtwistle on 3 June 1854. His other publications are Sermon. Meeting God (1827), A Letter to Sir Robert Peel on the Endowment of the Papacy (1844) and Transubstantiation: A Sermon (1851).
