TARRAS, William (1781-1868?: ancestry.co.uk)
One of his poems, “Epistle to a Friend,” is dated Mar. 1803 from Strichen, Aberdeenshire, and gives his age as twenty-one. He was probably the William Tarras born in Strichen on 13 Sept. 1781 to John Tarras and his wife Anna Keith. He may have been a blacksmith. Ancestry indicates that he likely died in 1868. His poems are written in the Buchan or “Doric” Scots dialect and the book includes a glossary. (ancestry.co.uk 12 Dec. 2021) SR
