STRATTON, Jemima Maria (1779-1848: ancestry.co.uk)
She was baptised 1 Feb. 1779 at Bath Abbey, the daughter of Avery Stratton, an attorney, and his wife Susanna Seccombe. As a young girl, she published The Maid of the Castle (1794) and later became a member of the Salisbury Theatre company. She died 31 Jan. 1848 at Bath, esteemed for her "histrionic talents" and a liberal bequest of £50 to Salisbury Infirmary.
