Biography:

SPROULE, Harriet Letitia (1788-1824: ancestry.co.uk)

She was baptised on 3 Dec. 1788 at St. Andrew, Clifton, the eldest daughter of Capt. Andrew Sproule, R. N. (1763-1822), and his wife Harriet Foster (1761-1831). He was the third son of Admiral Andrew Sproule. Her father died, aged 58, at Clifton in 1822, and left her £3000. She died, after a three-year illness, on 2 Aug. 1824, and was buried at St. Swithin, Bath, with a memorial tablet erected by the family. Her posthumously published collection contains the usual hymns to the seasons, odes, and an interesting topographical poem, "The Lakes of Llanberis."
