SHARRON, J. (fl 1820)

A quack doctor who went about the country selling medicines and using undated pamphlets to advertise his medicines. He called himself "Dr. J. Sharron"; he introduced his remedies sometimes in verse. On at least one occasion he used the pseudonym "Col. John Wabash, Chief Warrior and Indian Physician in the Creek Nation," promoting herbal cures in The Beauties of the Healing Art (Philadelphia, n.d.). HJ
