Biography:

SANDERSON, Alfred Poyntz (1789-1811: ancestry.co.uk)

He was baptised on 12 Aug. 1789 at Northleach, Gloucester, the eldest son of Rev. Alfred Sanderson (1753-1802) and his wife Charlotte Poyntz (1768-1847), who had married in 1788. He matriculated at Pembroke College, Oxford, on 24 Mar. 1809 but died on 7 Sept. 1811 of a “ruptured blood vessel” before completing his degree. He left among his papers several poems which were printed in newspapers and later included in his brother Stephen Sanderson’s (q.v.) Poems, Chiefly Sacred (1833), listed here.
