Author: Richardson, J. M.

Biography:

RICHARDSON, J. M. (fl 1824)

Besides stating his residence, Paris, the only personal information the poet mentions in his books is his visit to Grenada in 1817 and 1818. In one of his miscellaneous poems, he expresses indignation at the treatment of African-Grenadian slaves. He might be related to Elizabeth Richardson of Notting Hill, Kensington, and to her brother Clement Thomas Richardson, a barrister who, having spent 50 years on the island of Grenada, died on the island of Guernsey in 1845. Their father, also Clement, an officer in the Royal Navy, was British Consul at Sardinia prior to 1789.
