PROCTER, W. T. (fl 1802)
The only work that appeared with the author’s name in this form is Joseph. A Sacred Drama, published in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, in 1802. It is reasonable to assume that Procter was a local, but no public records have been found that might shed light on his identity. The book was damned by reviewers as “a miserable production,” the Poetical Register observing that “The author has a strange antipathy to vowels.” (Poetical Register [1803], 451; Baker, 2: 398; CR 37 [1803], 477)
