Author: Peabody, Moses

Biography:

PEABODY, Moses (fl 1805)

His small, sole collection of poems was published for the author in New Hampshire; in it, he seeks the reader's indulgence for errors since he is "not a person of education." His subjects are generally lessons of Christian charity and resignation to the will of God; he mentions the deaths of children of his own. One possible candidate is a farmer of that name born about 1778, who in 1850 was living in New Boston NH with his wife Elizabeth (born about 1784) and who died there in 1858.
