Biography:
NEVILLE, O. (fl 1811)
The Lay of the Last Minstrel, Travesty is attributed to O. Neville but nothing more is known. Todd and Bowden state that he was “obviously an unsympathetic Englishman” who recommended reading his version with Scott’s (q.v.) original to hand. (W. B. Todd and A. Bowden, Sir Walter Scott: A Bibliographical History, 1796-1832 [1998], 998) SR
