He was born on 9 Oct. 1764 and baptised on 6 Nov. at St. Mary, Wargrave, Berkshire, the son of Rev. On 7 June 1797 he married Sarah Jane Hopegood (not Hopewood) at Monken Hadley (now in outer London); they had at least two children. Ordained priest in 1799, he first served as curate at Selborne, Hampshire, and was then preferred to the rectory of Little Easton, Essex, from 1800 until his death. He died at the rectory on 25 Sept. 1815. (ODNB 29 June 2023; findmypast.com 29 June 2023; Alumni Oxonienses; CCEd 29 June 2023) HJ
