MOLLESON, Alexander (fl 1798-1827: SBTI)

He was a Glasgow bookseller with a shop first in Glassford St. and then in Albion St. His earliest publication is probably his 1798 Melody the Soul of Music: an Essay Towards the Improvement of the Musical Art. Other works include: The Critical Bee; or Beauties of New Publications (1805), Beauties of Select Living Poets (1808), and an 1822 prospectus for a book on Hannibal. The Scottish Book Trade Index records him as continuing to trade until 1827, but no details about his life have been located. (Scottish Book Trade Index) SR
