Author: Mitchie, John
Biography:
MITCHIE, John (fl 1814-31)
His poem attempting to prove (with examples) that drunkenness “is the foundation of innumerable other vices” went through at least twelve editions. It is surprising then that no biographical information has come to light. The first edition, published at Rotherham, Yorkshire, is anonymous but the title page states “by a reformed drunkard”.
