MCALPIE, James (fl 1690)

The Advertisement to his book is signed “W. M.” and identifies McAlpie as the Sheriff Clerk in Paisley in the 1690s. W.M., who is unidentified, found McAlpie’s poems in manuscript in the clerk’s office and had just thirty copies printed. SR
