MACDONALD, William (fl 1809)
All that is known of him is from his book. He states that his parents left Scotland in 1745. A Roman Catholic, he studied at the University of Douai until 1793 when he fled first to England and then to Spain where he completed his divinity studies at the Scots College at Valladolid. By 1809 he was living in Scotland. The book is dedicated to the Duke of Gordon and includes a fourteen-page list of subscribers.
