Author: Lyons, Samuel
Biography:
LYONS, Samuel (d 1848)
He was a Belfast teacher and printer but little else is known for certain. He conducted the Belfast Classical and Commercial School with the Rev. Robert Acheson in about 1808 and he may later have run his own school. With a brother, David, and Joseph Smyth he ran a printing and schoolbook business; the partnership was dissolved in August 1810. Likely he was the Samuel Lyons, printer, who died at Tullynewbank, Glenavy, near Belfast, on 7 July 1848; if so, he was born in about 1782.
