Biography:
LOCKHART, Charles (fl 1821-51: ancestry.co.uk)
Little is known of his life, but he is likely the Charles Lockhart listed in the 1841 Census as an auctioneer living in Ayr. If so, his wife’s name was Ann and they had eight children. His 1830 book is a second edition of Poems, Written Chiefly in the Scottish Dialect (1821); this book went to a third edition in 1836. (ancestry.co.uk 1 Oct 2019)
