Author: Linstien, Madame
Biography:
LINSTIEN or LEINSTEIN, Madame (fl 1820-26)
“Leinstein” appears as a place-name but not as a person’s name in some newspapers of the period—and not at all in the genealogical records. It is possible that “Madame Leinstein” or “Linstien” was a foreign-born educator of young children, but more likely that the name is a pseudonym. Her only other known publication is a prose tale, also in chapbook form initially: The Fatal Scarf; or, A Sister’s Vengeance. A Legend of Cuth-lonor (1825?).
