Biography:
KEENE, Talbot (1735-1824: findmypast.com)
He was born in Dublin, the son of William and Ann (Madden) Keene. From Westminster School he went to Trinity College Cambridge (BA 1761, MA 1770) and was ordained in the C of E (deacon 1761, priest 1762). He married Esther (or Hester) Frohock perhaps before 1760, given that their son John Wroe Keene (d 1846), who also went into the church, was born about that date. They had at least three children who grew to maturity. Keene was Vicar of Brigstock with Stanion, Northamptonshire, from 1773 until his death, and is buried in the graveyard there. He was blind the last seven years of his life, an affliction he is said to have borne "with great resignation." (findmypast.com 1 Apr. 2021; CCEd 1 Apr. 2021; ACAD 1 Apr. 2021) HJ
