Author: Jones, Elizabeth C.

Biography:

Jones, Elizabeth C. (fl 1819-50)

She published poetry both for adults and for children from her home in Providence RI between 1819 and 1830; in 1832 her Infant Speaker appeared from a Boston publisher. She is reliably although not invariably identified as "Miss" and is very likely the Elizabeth C. Jones registered in the 1850 census as aged 70 (therefore born c. 1780) and part of the Vaughn household in Providence. (ancestry.com 25 June 2019)
