Biography:

Joline, John K. (fl 1813-26)

Records are scant and none has come to light regarding his parentage, birthplace, marriage, or place of death. As a printer in Freehold NJ about 1813-15, he issued scrip notes that could be used as a substitute for cash and was the proprietor and editor of a short-lived newspaper (the first in Freehold), The Spirit of Washington. By 1823 he had moved to Marietta OH and joined his brother Aaron V. D. Joline as editor of another paper. He chaired a committee of the local Episcopal Church in 1826. His brother was still active in Marietta in the 1840s but there is no further word of John K. (ancestry.com 24 June 2019; WorldCat)
