JOHNSTONE, John (1748-1827: Evangelical Poems)
He had died by the time of publication of the 2nd edition of his book (1828) and seems to have lived in both Paisley, Renfrewshire, and in Donaghadee, County Down. The introduction to the 2nd edition of his book (no first edition has been located) gives his year of birth as 1748 and the date of his death as 1 May 1827, but these have not been confirmed by public records. The book includes his reflections on death and a poem, "A Farewell Address to Surviving Relations, By One in the View of Death." (O'Donoughue) SR
