Janes, Walter (1777-1827: Lipson)
He was born in Brimfield MA to Eliphalet and Elfreda (or Alfleda) Janes. He was a farmer, musician, and inventor. He married Cynthia Richards and moved, some time between 1807 and 1810, to Ashford CT, where he was initiated as a Mason in 1811 and rose through the ranks of freemasonry to become a Grand Master for the state. Most of his publications are either music or orations composed for specific occasions. He is buried in Eastford CT.
