Jameson, Mark (1775-1852: ancestry.co.uk)

His poem commemorates an event on 13 August 1822 when George IV, travelling to Scotland on board the royal yacht, was given shelter from stormy weather at Berwick-upon-Tweed. Jameson was the son of John and Hannah Jameson; his father was a baker. In 1792, he was apprenticed to an attorney. County directories from the 1820s show him working as an attorney in Berwick; he was also the town clerk and lived at “Scott’s Place, Castlegate.” (ancestry.co.uk 13 Aug 2019)
