Biography:

HUMFREY, Nathaniel (1781-1840: ancestry.co.uk)

He was baptised on 8 May 1781, the third of four children of Rev. Ptolemy Humfrey (1720-87), Rector of Thorpe Mandeville, Northamptonshire, and his wife Mary Parriot, who had married in 1774. He was educated at Lincoln College, Oxford (matric. 1798, BA 1801, MA 1806). He was Curate (1803-6) and then Rector (1806-40) at Thorpe Mandeville. He married Kezia Bull on 5 May 1812 at Chacombe, Northants., and they went on to have three children. He died at Thorpe Mandeville and was buried there on 16 Oct. 1840. His wife survived him and died in 1867. His only known work, listed here, is rare.
