Author: Howell, Henry
Biography:
HOWELL, Henry (fl 1834)
The title page designates him “late of Cambridge” but he is not listed in ACAD and "Cambridge" likely means the place not the university. Only Part 1 of his poem seems to have been published. He may have been the Henry William Howell, son of Joseph Howell and his wife Elizabeth Bowman who was baptised at St. Botolph, Cambridge, on 26 Sept. 1806. That man moved to London where on 4 June 1828 he married Maria Browne at St. Marylebone. The 1861 Census shows them living at St. Pancras with two children; his occupation is given as "traveller for a bookseller." Confirmation is wanting. (ancestry.co.uk 12 Aug. 2025) SR
