HOWARD, John Owens (1794-1823: irishgenealogy.ie)

He almost certainly the John Owens Howard who was born in Dublin to William and Eliza Howard and baptised at St. Catherine's church, Dublin, on 2 Feb. 1794.  If so, he married Maria O’Neill in Ireland in 1815; they had three sons and three daughters. Howard died in 1823 and was buried in Dublin on 19 Feb.; his home address is given in the burial record as Gardiner Street. Reviews of what was  his only book were mixed: MR said that it may be recommended "for the purpose of beguiling a leisure hour with innocent amusement," but CR was more stern and accused Howard of over-rating his own talents.
