HODSON, Francis Allen (1777?-1840: ancestry.com)
The “bard of Snowdon” notwithstanding, he was born in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, and baptised on 3 Jan. 1777; his parents were Rebecca (Allen) and Charles Hodson. He became a London printer, with the major events of his life documented from the time of his first marriage, which was to Catherine Fallows at St. Martin-in-the-Fields on 24 (or 31) Jul. 1796. On 16 Feb. 1802 he married Elizabeth Smith at St. Dunstan in the West, but she died on 5 Oct. the same year. His third marriage was to Sophia Hillson on 21 May 1804 at St. Giles-in-the-Fields, Bloomsbury, and his fourth to Mary Ann Perceval at the same church on 28 Dec. 1812. With his third wife he had two sons, and with the fourth at least two daughters. He died in Mar. 1840 in Bloomsbury; his fourth wife survived him.
