HASLETT, Andrew (1785-1817: ancestry.com)
There is very little information available about him, but there is a birth record. He was the son of Sarah and Moses Haslet (sic) born on 11 Sept. and christened on 1 Oct. 1785. His Baltimore volume, published by subscription (for which he thanks the "gentlemen" subscribers), indicates that he had published miscellaneous pieces before, presumably in newspapers. He is almost certainly the Andrew Haslett who married Anna Conrad in Mississippi in 1817 and has been described as "Mississippi's Poet of Territorial Days."
