GRIFFIN, Edmund Dorr (1804-30: WBIS)
He was born in Wyoming PA to George and Lydia Griffin. The family moved to New York City in 1806. He became Rector of St James's Church in Hamilton Square, but had to resign on account of ill health. After travelling in Europe in 1828 in the hope of improvement, he returned to New York and gave a series of lectures on literature for a former teacher at Columbia who was unwell, but his own health failed soon after.
