Biography:
GLASS, Willison (1776-1843: ancestry.co.uk)
He was born on 24 Apr. 1776 (baptised 1 May) at South Leith, the son of George Glass and Janet (Black) Glass. He married Christian Bicket in Melrose, Roxburghshire, on 4 Oct. 1806 and they had at least two sons one of whom was named Francis Jeffrey Glass (b 1812). He is listed in the Edinburgh Annual Directory as a painter although this may be a mistransciption for printer--or, possibly, he was both printer and painter. Glass died of "palsy" in 1843 and was buried in Edinburgh on 30 Nov.; the burial record shows that he lived in East Adam Street and was 67 at the time of his death.
