Biography:
GIBSON, William (fl 1828)
Gibson undoubtedly spent time in Northumberland and the Scottish borders. The Coquet river winds through much of Northumberland. The Literary Gazette described the book as “an unpretending provincial effort” that may find local favour. The subscription list might assist in identifying the author but it has not yet been seen and there is no online copy of the book. GM, stating the the book had been introduced to its notice by a clergyman, describes the author as a young but worthy man "in humble life." (Literary Gazette 25 Oct. 1828; GM 98 [1828], 533-34) SR
