Author: Geary, Elizabeth
Biography:
GEARY, Elizabeth (fl 1822)
The “effusions” are divided into poems that find a moral lesson in nature and poems that are more explicitly religious. There is no evidence that Geary was Irish as claimed by O’Donoghue but no information has been found about her. Likely she lived in London although several of the poems reflect on visits to Berkshire. She may have been the Elizabeth Geary who was buried at St. George’s, Hanover Square, on 18 Apr. 1846, aged 46. (O’Donoghue; ancestry.co.uk 12 Sept. 2024)
