Biography:
GALLIARD, Bradshaw (1747-85: ancestry.co.uk)
He was baptised on 16 Apr. 1747 at All Saints, Edmonton (now part of north London), the only son of Pierce Galliard (1711-1789) and his wife Anna Hughes who had married in 1743. The Galliard family had lived in Edmonton since the time of Charles II and possessed considerable estates there. His father matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford, in 1727 and qualified as a barrister-at-law at Lincoln’s Inn in 1733. Bradshaw matriculated at Oriel, Oxford, on 24 Nov. 1764. He published Odes (1774). He died at his sister’s house in East Sheen, aged 38, and was buried at the family church, All Saints, Edmonton, on 29 Sept. 1785. The Galliard estate passed to his sister Mary’s husband in 1789 on the death of his father.
