Author: Fowler, George
Biography:
FOWLER, George (fl 1810-35)
Not to be confused with the author of Three Years in Persia (1841), who published in London and is referred to in reviews as an Englishman or European, this writer appears to have worked entirely within the US and published in Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Washington. His two earlier publications are prose fictions, a satirical account of the US (The Wandering Philanthropist, 1810), and an imaginary journey (A Flight to the Moon, 1813). It is possible that he was George Fowler of Baltimore MD (1783-1858), husband of Rachel Arnold and father of a large family, but confirmation is needed.
