Biography:

FISHER, Henry (fl 1794)

Discord: an Epic Poem, occasioned by observing the Present Troubles in France (1794) is not “epic” in the conventional sense, being only 36 pages long. Its author, Henry Fisher, is included in Watkins as still a “living author” in 1816, but with no other titles to his name and with no further identifying information. The one known review was far from encouraging. It is only two sentences long: “Never was the august title of epic poem more disgraced than by its application to these verses. They are, in truth, nothing better than the bombastic rant of political phrenzy against anarchists and reformers.” No reliable biographical information has as yet been found.
