Biography:

FENNO, Jenny, later Jane Ames (b 1765: ancestry.com)

Boston born and bred, she was the daughter of John and Katharine (Hodges) Fenno. Her father was in charge of the town granary. She married James Ames in the Second Baptist Church in 1794. They settled in Bridgewater MA and had four sons, one of whom died in infancy. But James Ames died in 1803 and it is likely that his widow remarried. Jane Ames married Nathaniel Stone of Norton MA  in a civic ceremony in Boston on 20 August. 1807. Her married name is common enough that public records cannot be relied on for a date and place of death. (J. L.
