Biography:
EMMONS, Richard (c 1790-1834: ancestry.com)
Although some sources give his birthdate as 1780, there is no question about the year of death and his age at the time was recorded as 44. He was born in Boston, where he became a doctor and his brother William (b 1792) a publisher almost simultaneously: Richard's title-pages identify him as MD from 1827 and from 1827 William is named as the publisher of his works in Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington DC. After Richard's death (in Washington), William continued to issue portions of his poetry into the 1840s. (ancestry.com 16 Nov. 2018) HJ
