Author: Elliot, Miss
Biography:
ELLIOT, Miss (fl 1812)
Fancy’s Wreath is a collection of prose tales and verse. The preface argues for the utility and delight of allegorical writing and its particular suitability for young people. Unfortunately there are no clues to Miss Elliot’s identity in the preface or the text. Likely she lived in London where the publisher, White, Cochrane and Co., was located at 63 Fleet Street. The book was widely advertised in London newspapers in 1813. Nothing more is known. (BBTI)
