EDWARDS, Richard (fl 1785)
His poem satirises various politicians but little information has been located about the author. He may have been born in Ipswich, Suffolk, and was the son of Richard Edwards of Greys, Writtle, Essex, and Lydia Markham of Washbrook, Suffolk, who had married in Suffolk on 31 Dec. 1748. No birth or baptismal records have been located and nothing is known of his education. Likely at the time of his book’s publication he was living in London.
