Author: Eaton, B. A.

Biography:

Eaton, B. A. (fl 1833-84)

Clues to the identity of this author are very few. He appears to have belonged to a Boston Brahmin family. His name is listed (in this form, with initials only) in a Boston directory of 1862 and again in the Boston "Blue Book" of addresses of wealthy citizens in 1884. He does not seem to have attended Harvard--at any rate, is not in their alumni records. His one and only book is dedicated to Harrison Gray Otis (1765-1848), the lawyer and politician, another Boston Brahmin, who would have just finished serving a term (1829-31) as Mayor of the city.
