Biography:

DUNCH, Mary Elizabeth (1786-1851: ancestry.co.uk)

She was born on 29 Apr. 1786, the eldest daughter of James Dunch, a Merchant Taylor,  and his wife Judith Sykes, and baptised 28 May at St. George’s, Hanover Square. On his death in 1800, her father left her mother the house and his share of the shop in Shepherd Street, together with shops and other property around Long Acre and Angel Court. Mary Elizabeth lived most of her life in Greenwich, where she published by subscription Leisure Moments (1826) to which she added a second part in 1841. She died, aged 65, at Luton Place, Royal Hill, Greenwich, and was buried at St. Alfrege on 25 Sept.1851.
