Mrs. Dodge published under the alias "amica religionis"--"friend of religion"--in 1827, and describes herself in the Preface as a very young and inexperienced writer. There is no other independent publication but her work appeared also in some Christian magazines and collections, in the 1830s and 40s. HJ
